Unfortunately being a mom is not all gumdrops and butterflies, but it can come close, or so I’ve been told. As you know kids can be trying and tough and there are no two kids alike, so that makes this parenting job a bit tricky at times. I have three beautiful, precious little girls and while they can be the sweetest most lovable little ladies you have ever laid eyes on, they have a whole other side…trust me!
I wish there was like a free hot line you could call every time you are eyeball deep in frustration on how to handle a situation and then – POOF – Super Nanny appears and magically fixes all that ales us. (sigh) Commence real life. (as I slowly drag my feet back into reality)
Real life parenting is tough and ridiculously frustrating at times. You can totally get to a point where you think…ahhhh, I totally am a crappy parent. But no worries, we all have hit the rock bottom of parenting at some point and have to rebuild from the ground up again and again and again. These kids of ours can be PRETTY sly and really good at changing the game on us weekly, daily, hourly, oh my! And if you have more than one, they band together like a little army bent on driving mommy to her limit.
So we need tools! I just finished reading 8 Simple Tools For Raising Great Kids and let me tell you, if you are looking for tools and tips to get to the HEART of the problem, this is the book for you mama!
