Hey Hey! I am so in love with fall! Isn’t it just beautiful? I love everything about this season…all the pretty colors of leaves, the smell, the cool crisp air and of course the apple cider!
There’s just something about this season that makes me want to get all craftsy and stuff! You know there is nothing better than going for a long walk with the kids and collecting leaves and acorns to make fall crafts with!

Fall Leaf Sun Catcher Collage
For this collage, we used 2 pieces of wax paper, silk leaves, and some other little shapes and leaves. I had them make it right where I planned to press it. After they had their collage the way they wanted it, I carefully place the other piece of wax paper on top, then folded the blanket on top of that and used an iron to melt it together.
Leaf Print Painting
They painted the vein side of the leaf with orange, red and purple. Next, they flipped them over onto cardstock and pressed on a print. They also painted their pine cones and did some prints with those as well.
Fun Fall Tree Craft
This was one of our favorite fall crafts ever!! It was so much fun!! We love doing crafts around here, especially fall crafts. We found this one over at 1+1+1=1.
While they dried we worked on our ground. I peeled some brown crayons and had them rub all over the whole paper.
I had some fall leaves that I had purchased from the dollar store last year that worked great, we glued a few to the ground.
After our tree trunk dried we cut slits on the top(thin) and a few on the bottom(thick) then taped our tree to the ground. Next, we glued our leaves onto the branches.
Woven Place Mats
Fold a large sheet of construction paper in half the long way. Cut slits into the folded side, each about 1 inch apart. Cut several one-inch strips of paper (assorted colors) and then weave the paper through the slits of the frame. Glue down loose ends. Then laminate if possible.
Leaf Observation
These girls L-O-V-E Sid the Science kid on PBS so Jada is always asking me to make her a journal so she can do her observations. So we made these little leaf observation journals. I just folded in half 2 sheets of printer paper and stapled them together. They glued silk leaves from the dollar store to the top of the journal for a pretty touch.
I taped different types, sizes and colors of leaves to a poster board and we made predictions on how they would look tomorrow.
Jada said “They’re all gonna be PURPLE mom.”(why am I not surprised:)
I had them rub a real leaf on their first page….
Day 2 (last day) Jada was very disappointed….NO PURPLE! Just crunchy and falling off the tape…lol!
