“God in the Box” is one man’s {along with a handful of friends’} Journey to find out who God is. They place a box equipped with cameras and microphones in various cities around the United States.
They are not evangelists or ministers of the gospel they are just everyday people of different religious backgrounds trying to answer questions about God, who He is, what He looks like, and etc. Random people – believers, unbelievers, unsure believers, etc. go into this box to talk about, sing about, write about, draw about, God. Here is a preview of the Movie. Get your advanced screening HERE.
There are no rules just a couple questions about God.
What does God look like to you?
What does God Mean to you?
If I were in the Box…I would probably say something like this… God is love, God is creator of all, God is my Savior, God is my Provider, God is Spirit (John 4:24), Father, Son & Holy Spirit. So His appearance is not like anything we can really describe. We are also spirit we all have different colors, sizes and shapes on the outside, but we are created in His image and in Exodus 33:20 God tells us, “You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” As human beings, we are incapable of seeing God in all His glory. His appearance is utterly unimaginable and too glorious to be safely perceived by sinful man. What God looks like is beyond our capability of understanding and describing. Just as how God loves is beyond our capability of loving.
The bible says that God revealed Himself in a few instances, God gives glimpses of what He looks like to teach us truths about Himself, He wants us to feel connected with Him so I believe He reveals Himself to us throughout our daily life and our paradigm of who He is is forever changing as we draw closer to Him. Here are a couple of scriptures that give us an insight into what our Amazing God is like Ezekiel 1:26-28 and Revelation 1:14-16
Jesus said to the disciples in John 20:29 that “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” I don’t know about you but I choose to believe even though I have not seen. It is just a knowing inside once you give your life to Christ you just know.
The mere fact that people are questioning who or what God is proves His existence. He is very much alive and He is in us and all around us. He is more than we can ever think or imagine, He is “I AM” The beginning and the end! Yahweh! My Creator, My redeemer, My Savior, My Father, My Friend! I do not believe in Him because I have seen Him or know what He looks like…I stay in the word and continuously grow closer therefore there is no room for doubt. He is because He is…That’s all!
Revelation 1:14-16 says, “His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.”
Ezekiel 1:26-28 Says, “Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.”
Notice in these scriptures they didn’t give a specific way He looks they were trying to describe what they were seeing in spirit which is hard to put into our language so they used a lot of symbolic language to try and give us a glimpse of what they were seeing they used words like “like the appearance”, what appeared like”, and such. One thing that the bible does say is that when the day comes that we cross over to the other side we will see God for who He is (1 John 3:3) sin will be no more, all our questions will end, and we shall see Him in all His glory…Amen. Ultimately if you question God too much you may just allow the enemy to come in and fill you with doubt and unbelief. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things unseen. Just have faith, the best things are the unseen.
God is Love, He created us for relationship with Him, He created all and put a plan in place for our lives, but you ultimately have to choose this path. He is not the reason you are suffering, He is the reason you are still breathing. The enemy is the one who is out to steal, kill and destroy. God created us all with free will choice and your choices are creating your tomorrow and your present is the result of your choices from the past. God gave His only Son, JESUS, so that we could have eternal life. (John 3:16) Jesus came so that we would have life and life MORE abundant. (John 10:10)
This “God in the Box” film is very thought provoking and I hope that it will get people to start to think about and seek out the ONLY ONE, TRUE, LIVING, ETERNAL, ALMIGHTY, GOD!! I know for me it has lit a fire under me to really want to save souls and introduce all the sad, lonely, hurting, confused and lost people to JESUS!
