At the mention of the words, homeschool planning to your palms start to sweat accompanied by a lump in your throat? If that sounds familiar, read on.
Homeschool Planning is not for Everyone
Don’t fall for the planner hype if you are a type-B mom. I say this with all the love I possibly can. It’s just not for us.We aren’t wired that way. I’ve had numerous planners over the past 8 years of homeschooling and not one of them is full or even a quarter of the way full. So why do I keep buying them you may ask?
Well. I’m in “planner denial”.
Yep, it’s a thing.
Planner denial is when you want to plan so bad and be like all the other planner cool kids you keep buying planners in hopes that if you buy enough of them you will magically turn into a homeschool planning mom when the clock strikes midnight.
It’s Ok to NOT be that into Homeschool Planning
But in reality, we are just not built like that. We are more relaxed and casual. We don’t need a written plan to function. The written plan really messes up our whole groove.
Honestly, I think we have a plan it’s just an internal part of who we are.We have, so to speak, a quiet inner schedule that we follow without even realizing it.
Sound weird?
Maybe to some. But I’ve really been honing in on why I can’t keep up on a planner.
It took me 8 years to finally admit I’m not a planner. I AM NOT A PLANNER…There I’ve said it! I’m not a planner and that’s OK.
Homeschool Planning for the Non-Planner
Ok so I’m not a planner, we have that established. You must not be either if you are still reading this. So what can we do be intentional in our homeschool planning if we are not a planner? Is there hope for us? Can we successfully run our homeschool day to day without a planner?
The answer is YES we can and I’ll show you how.
