“LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME, AND DO NOT STOP THEM; FOR IT IS TO SUCH AS THESE THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD BELONGS.”-Luke 18:16
When this moment in history happened, Jesus was engaged in deep conversation with some VERY important men talking about some VERY important things, but he stopped them to bless the children. How many times have we been in this same situation as Jesus..Seeming to us to be doing something more important than taking a moment to REALLY hear our kids hearts, but react this way instead…
“MOMMY..MOMMY..MOMMY..”
“Not now..I’m busy.”
“BUT, MOMMY”
“WHAT…WHAT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT YOU MUST INTERRUPT?!”
“MOMMY..I LOVE YOU AND I JUST WANTED A HUG”
“OUCH…(as I cringe at how I reacted- eek-slow wake up call from my selfishness) OK, sorry honey, I love you too”
The true unconditional love of my child has broken my own selfish anger off of me, what a slap in the face.
Unintentionally we are teaching our kids they don’t matter, by this behavior. HARSH REALITY, I know I have done it many, many, times, but here lately the Lord has really been OPENING MY EYES to these kind of situations in my life, this is just one of many…OUCH! Although it’s hard and it hurts to admit my faults as a mother, but I will and I will and I will, until each and everything that I do that is gonna hinder my child’s relationship with God and people. Because really that is what we are doing, we are teaching our kid’s to be selfish and inconsiderate, thus this whole scenario is to be repeated and repeated, generation after generation until someone stands up against this iniquity (habits/sins passed down from generation to generation) and every other iniquity that we allow to still live in our lives.
My purpose and calling right now, in the Lord, is the leading and guidance of my children…I want to do a GREAT job, so I will continue to grow and change FOREVER, yep FOREVER, for Him and for them!! I want my beautiful children to be able to come to me anytime any day and know they will be welcomed and loved always and completely forever-more! In the same way Jesus was with those children and with all children, I will continue to press in to be more like DAILY with my own kids and all kids put in my path by God.
So as for me and my household we choose to break this iniquity and every other iniquity that the Holy Spirit reveals to us so that my children and grandchildren will be free from them.
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. -Proverbs 14:1
