What would you give to have a year of your family’s memories beautifully documented through photography?
Do you want to take better pictures of your kids? As a mom blogger, I take a ton of pictures everyday. My kids are always doing something super important, silly or cutesy that I just have to capture. If you are a parent, you know it as well as I do, we only have this small window with these special tiny beings that we call children. With that said, we need to grab a hold of each fleeting moment in time and keep it in our photo albums or share it on our facebook timeline.
Then one day, when the empty nest is in full effect, we can pull them out and for a blink we can be holding their hand walking through the zoo or snuggled up with their very favorite blanky. Because if only for a fraction of a second that picture brings us back to those precious moments… we will need that. Gah! I’m getting all teary thinking about how it goes so fast and before I know it my three little ladies will be young women.
I need to capture as many glorious moments, every last one, sniff, sniff. Like the time my daughters tied 20 blankets together to make a Rapunzel wig, you just gotta have that memory on camera, or when they took their first steps, had their first birthdays. All of the important firsts and of course lasts. The last missing tooth smile. The last day of school. Okay now I’m getting a little too emotional. But you get the point we need this! We need to take better pictures. I am an everyday-all-day picture taking kind a gal. And I want them to be good.
So because of this I’ve scoured google for dozens of how to posts on taking better pictures. I’ve watched hours of Youtube videos on lighting, ISO and aperture (whatever that is). I even have a “take better pictures” Pinterest board. Do you think any of this helps me? NOPE! I just don’t get it! I have tried for the life of me to use the manual setting on my camera but I always fall back to my “comfy” zone the auto setting. To be honest most of the time I just use my iPhone camera. Every once in a great while I capture a stellar shot, but it is usually a fluke. I mean how do they get the background to blur away like that anyway?
