Hey busy moms! Want to buy yourselves 20 to 30 minutes and keep your preschooler or toddler busy? Well, this preschool obstacle course is perfect for when you need some time to get something done.
Since my youngest, Jordan has started preschool it is hard to get her to stop preschool. She LOVES it! She wants to do school ALWAYS! So when we are finished for the day and it is time for me to do one on one work with the big sisters, she is rather reluctant to let me go.
So I came up with a new way to keep her busy for a long time, so I can work with her sisters or do laundry, dishes etc., etc. and she is still doing what she loves–school:-)
Preschool Activity Obstacle Course
I set up two rows of 3 activities that Jordan knows how to do on her own. I give her a starting point and an ending point and then remind her to complete it, leave it and move on to the next until all the way through the Activities.
Here is the set up-3 in the front and 3 in the back.
My 3 year old actually does these activities perfect and quiet, it takes her 20 to 30 minutes. Oh the things you can get done in that amount of time!
I was thrilled when I threw this together one very busy day on a whim, I had no idea it would actually work! She went through it with not a peep, she was just so focused and so proud of the accomplishment.
So I just had to share this with you, just in case you need to buy some time. Of course just make it your own and have fun with it. Make sure to change it up each time to keep it interesting. I would suggest keeping a list of all the easy and accessible activities that you have on hand, so you are not searching and trying to throw it together, hence losing more time than saving:-) Here are some more ideas for activities.
Do you have any creative ways of keeping your preschoolers or tots busy? We would love to hear about it.
