Wow….school is going great! The girls are really thriving and excelling in everything they do. They really are enjoying this school year so far. I feel like we are getting into a good groove.
This week I made some Chore books, which I will probably blog about later, but they absolutely LOVE them. They are so excited to wake up every morning and start their day…not to mention it is a lot less stressful. They are so proud of themselves when they accomplish each chore. It is so great to see! A special thanks to Jessica over at Our Family for His Glory for a great idea. Thank You sooooo much this is really working! Of course it isn’t complete yet. I have the morning chores and special helper pictures so far…lots more to come though.
Well if you’ve been here before you probably know we start everyday with praise and worship, prayer and we have been reading in psalms.
This week we went on our 2nd annual apple orchard field trip. What a beautiful day it was for apple pickin! We picked Red delicious and golden somethings. This year was waaaaay better than last year, for one we went to a nicer orchard and we didn’t have to fight the mosquitos this year….Not a bug in sight!!!
We had fun putting together this huge floor puzzle-Find it! ABC puzzle. This is one of Jasmine’s birthday gifts.
Jasmine circled the different shape from A Mommy’s Adventures.
While Jada worked on her addition mat from childcareland.com
Our new A is for apple magnet sheet from Confessions of a Homeschooler. I glued pom-poms to round magnets and use with a cookie sheet.
Jasmine is using a toy hammer to pound some golf tees into a block of foam.
I’ve been working with Jada on telling time. I found this foam clock at Target in the dollar section.
Jasmine having fun learning with another B-day present-Vtech Preschool Learning Alphabet Apple. This is great!
These beginning sounds cards are great because they give 2 pictures to choose from…This seems to work better with Jasmine. I found them at PreKinders.
Prekinders also had these rhyme cards for Jada to work with.
Jada practiced skip counting….this one came from Homeschool Creations.
Paint Blot Art
Things needed: Tempora paint-several colors; construction paper; spoon; rolling pin ( FYI it is a lot messier than I thought so cover your space.)
What we did: Folded the construction paper in half like a greeting card, then unfold. Next we spooned some paint and dropped it on the inside, then we fold the greeting card and rolled a rolling pin over it until smooth….carefully cause the paint comes gushing out the edges. We then opened up the cards to see the beautiful picture we created. I had the girls use their imagination to decide what they thought the picture looked like to them. They both said butterfly. When they dry you can fold them with the painted side out and use as a special greeting card for someone.
I printed a letter ‘A’ on the top center of the page and then wrote a lot of letters below adding in some A’s of course. I told the girls to circle the A’s and X the other letters.
We played a beginning sounds Garanimals ABC game
